Some of the Events Affecting human Embryoes

Here are news snippets from newsletters sent to my inbox, to help publicize:

1) from article :"Missouri House OKs Pro-Life Bill for Religious Conscience" these quotes:

"Today the Missouri House gave final approval to HCS HB 457, a religious conscience measure  that has the support of pro-life groups.

The bill contains broad conscience clause protections that specify that anyone providing or participating in a medical procedure or research cannot be required to participate or provide services that violates his or her religious, moral, or ethical principles that are adherent to a sincere and meaningful belief in God or in relation to a supreme being."

“Because of the attack on our religious institutions and business leaders who because of their faith choose not to participate in destroying innocent human life this is a real and pressing issue for our pro-life medical professionals,” said Pam Fichter, President of Missouri Right to Life."

2) from http://www.lifenews.com/2013/03/12/pro-life-group-tries-to-stop-using-aborted-babies-for-cosmetics/ w quotes:

"According to ADF, in July 2009, nine people were arrested for using embryonic stem cells and tissues from aborted children for commercial gain. At a Kaposv├ír clinic specializing in plastic surgery, hundreds of patients agreed to be injected with the cells and tissue for $25,000 per treatment. The procedure was not approved by medical authorities or the Ethics Committee of Hungary’s Scientific Advisory Board.

According to the Alliance Defending Freedom brief filed in the case, “the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice ruled that, in the context of European patent law, life begins from the moment of conception” and that human embryos cannot be used for “industrial or commercial purposes.”

The brief also explains that Article 1 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union “calls for the protection of human dignity and guarantees to everyone respect for their physical integrity within the context of biology and medicine.”

3) Nebraska has banned abortions when fetal pain is possible. Quoting article in Lincoln Journal Star:

"The executive director of Nebraska Right to Life, Julie Schmit-Albin, said the group welcomes a challenge.

"From the time that Nebraska passed its ban, the abortion industry was threatening to challenge pain as being a new standard for banning abortion," she said. "Medical technology that was not present when Roe v. Wade was decided is now assisting the pro-life movement."
